Shawn K. Reed, co-founder of Robbins Reed, Incorporated, serves as Director of Custom Home Operations.
Prior to the creation of Robbins Reed, Mr. Reed served for 11 years with Centex Homes on the Central Coast and in Southern California. As part of the Centex Homes Central Coast leadership team, Mr. Reed assisted in processing land entitlements for residential communities in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. In this role, he created and managed land development schedules, facilitated permitting and processing and oversaw contracts and budgets for large-scale production neighborhoods. As Vice President of Construction Operations for Centex Homes, he oversaw personnel management, scheduling, quality control, warranty and neighborhood management of up to 225 new home closings per year. As Construction Services Manager for Centex Homes, Mr. Reed was closely involved in the creation of superior architectural designs for homes ranging from starter residences to million dollar estates. As a Field Manager and a Purchasing Agent, he managed the day-to-day operations of residential home construction on a neighborhood level. During his tenure at Centex Homes, Mr. Reed has overseen the construction process for more than 1,500 new homes. Prior to his experience with Centex Homes, Mr. Reed served as Project Manager for The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in Irvine, California as well as positions ranging from Project Manager to Senior Project Buyer for Brookfield Homes in Costa Mesa, California.
Mr. Reed holds a degree in Construction Management from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and currently sits on the Industry Advisory Council for the school’s Construction Management Department. He is a licensed contractor (General Building “B”). Mr. Reed is a member of the National Association of Home Builders, the California Building Industry Association, and the Home Builders Association of the Central Coast.
