HBACC's Impact

Home builders and members are:

  • Your friends, neighbors, and community members

  • Your business partners, employers, and employees

  • Graduates of Cal Poly

  • Individuals who believe in Responsible Growth and have genuine concern for preserving the character and quality of life on the Central Coast

  • The people who built your home, neighborhoods, streets, parks, and bike paths

  • Architects, engineers, carpenters, lenders, plumbers, realtors, and more

  • Taxpayers

  • Partners with subcontractors, suppliers, Realtors, farmers and others interested in private property rights

Home builders provide:

  • Shelter to home buyers and renters

  • Relief to the Housing Crisis and Homelessness Crisis

  • Financial security to home buyers

  • Revenue and funds for local and County governments

  • Land and financing to build neighborhood schools

  • Fees for infrastructure

  • Assistance to create affordable housing

Home builders need:

  • A project approval process that is streamlined and predictable

  • Truth in zoning to know a general plan density actually has meaning

  • Building policies, codes, and regulation that help meet community housing needs

  • Government support for well-designed, suitably-located, higher-density developments

  • A fee system that targets our impacts instead of making us pay for existing societal problems

  • Coalition partners who want to work with us to achieve items listed above
